Senior Systems Architect (Exchange)

 Exchange Engineer will provides enterprise messaging services via Microsoft Exchange 2010 in a clustered configuration with approximately 5000 mailboxes. Client currently using GroupWise 8 and Novell 6.5 to host their approximately 4,000 mailboxes. Magothy seeks the services of an Exchange Senior Systems Architect to join our current team with the objective of architecting and implementing a unified messaging environment built on Exchange 2010 that merges two agency infrastructures on to one platform. Duties / Responsibilities

• Analysis and optimization of recently upgraded (2K3 to 2K10) MS Exchange environment according to industry standards and best practices
• Creation of a Migration
• Plan promotion of shared infrastructure and applications to reduce costs and improve information flows. Ensure that projects do not duplicate functionality or diverge from each other and business and IT strategies.
• Management of the risks associated with information and IT assets through appropriate standards and security policies.
• Direct or indirect involvement in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and use of Information Technology within the enterprise.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge/Skill

• 15 years of direct IT related experience
• 1-3 years of project management experience
• 3-5 years of IT solutions engineering experience
• Minimum 5 years experience engineering, managing and administering MS Exchange 2003/2007/2010, MS Lync 2010
• Minimum 5 years experience with high-availability architecture design (clusters, SAN, failover systems)
• Comprehensive understanding of Novell 6.x and Groupwise 8 administration
• Broad understanding Active Directory and Active Directory Federated Services
• Experience migrating Groupwise users into an Exchange environment including the use of tools such as Quest Migrator
• Experience with email routing, messaging anti-spam and anti-virus technologies
• Strong understanding of Exchange ActiveSync and Blackberry Enterprise Server
• Strong customer facing skills, Strong organization, multi-tasking skills, and presentation skills as well as strong communication skills.
• MCSE Certification a plus, Microsoft Certified Architect: Messaging Program; and or MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or 2010
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook version functionality is a requirement, additional knowledge of other Office components is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of risk management principles and practices
• Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture to include industry standard frameworks and methodologies such as NIST, DoDAF, TOGAF and others a plus
